A building’s HVAC system acts like its “lungs and circulatory system.” Dirty air ducts, coils and condensers can trap and collect bacteria and mold. Older buildings can harbor asbestos or lead that can be broadcast throughout buildings via their HVAC systems as well. If your building’s occupants are sensitive, air quality is a particular concern. Airborne contaminants can aggravate existing pulmonary issues, trigger allergic reactions or further spread mold and bacteria throughout the system.
